SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 737(4) of Article 43 - Health, of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume
and 1973 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
Article 43 - Health
737.
(4) "Practice of fitting and dealing in hearing
aids" shall mean the measurement of human hearing by
means of an audiometer AND THE PREPARATION AND EVALUATION
OF AUDIOGRAMS or by any other means solely for the
purpose of making selections, adaptations or sale of
hearing aids [.] OR FOR THE USE OF A PHYSICIAN OR MEMBER
OF RELATED PROFESSIONS AND SHALL INCLUDE THE ADVISING[[,
INSTRUCTING AND COUNSELING]] OF THE HARD-OF-HEARING IN
THE SELECTION AND USE OF HEARING AIDS. The term also
includes the making of impressions for earmolds. [A
dealer, at the request of a physician or a member of
related professions, may make audiograms for the
professional's use in consultation with the
hard—of—hearing.]
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1974.
