COUNTY COUNCIL OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND

Resolution No. 29-72
By the County Council, June 7, 1972

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COMPTROLLER OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND TO COLLECT THE GROSS RECEIPTS TAX FOR ANNE
ARUNDEL COUNTY, MARYLAND

WHEREAS, Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1969 Replacement Volume), "Revenue and Taxes,"
Heading, "Admissions and Amusement Tax,"
authorizes the various local governments to
impose certain gross receipts taxes, which taxes
shall be collected by the Comptroller of the
State of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, in further implementation of Section 17-500
of the Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and
Supplements), it is the intent of the County
Council of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, to
continue the practice of collecting said tax
(including, but not limited to, the tax on
amusement or admission passes, in accordance with
Section 402C of Article 81 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland [1969 Replacement Volume]); now,
therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY,
MARYLAND, That the Comptroller of the State of
Maryland be, and he is hereby requested to
continue to collect and remit said gross receipts
taxes to Anne Arundel County, Maryland, the rate
of which are set forth in said Section 17—500 of
the Anne Arundel County Code (1967 Edition and
Supplements); and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to
Louis L. Goldstein, Comptroller of the Treasury
for the State of Maryland, and Ray L. Valianti,
Assistant Chief to the Comptroller of the
Treasury.
