(5) Carry out such other responsibilities as may be requested by the
superintendent of the [hospital] CENTER.
(6) Submit an annual report to the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene
regarding the needs of the chronically ill and to the extent that the [hospital]
CENTER is meeting these needs.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

(House Bill 1387)
AN ACT to add new Sections 28-17(e) and 28-18(e) to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Washington County (1970 Edition, being Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Washington County," subtitle "Sanitary
Districts," to follow immediately after Sections 28-17(d) and 28-l8(d) thereof,
as last amended by Chapter 743 of the Acts of 1961; and to repeal and re-enact,
with amendments, Sections 28-17(d) and 28-18(d) of the same Article, title and
subtitle, to provide that the County Commissioners may apply to the Public
Service Commission to fix or alter the rates for water and sewer service
supplied by the Washington County Sanitary District.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That new Sections 28-17(e) and 28-18(e) be and they are hereby
added to the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington County (1970 Edition,
being Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Washington County," subtitle "Sanitary Districts," to follow immediately after
Sections 28-17(d) and 28-l8(d) thereof, as last amended by Chapter 743 of the
Acts of 1961; and that Sections 28-17(d) and 28-18(d) of the same Article, title and
subtitle be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and all
to read as follows:

(E) UPON WRITTEN APPLICATION OF THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS, THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION MAY FIX OR
ALTER THE RATES FOR WATER SUPPLIED BY THE DISTRICT AS IF
THE DISTRICT WERE A PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY.

District pursuant to this Section shall not be subject to review, regulation or
control by any agency of the County or of the State, (including the Public Service
