requirement lawfully made by the Commission under and within the authority of
this subtitle.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

CHAPTER 72
(Senate Bill 521)
AN ACT to add a new Section 175(16) to Article 48A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume), title "Insurance Code," subtitle
"Agents and Brokers," to follow immediately after Section 175(15) thereof, to
provide an additional ground for revocation, suspension, or refusal to renew an
agent or broker license when the applicant or licensee has transacted insurance
business which was directed to him for consideration by a person whose license
to engage in the insurance business was, at the time, suspended or revoked and
the applicant or licensee knew or should have known that the person's license
was suspended or revoked.
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That a new Section 175(16) be and it is hereby added to Article
48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1972 Replacement Volume), title
"Insurance Code," subtitle "Agents and Brokers," to follow immediately after
Section 175(15) thereof and to read as follows:

(16) HAS TRANSACTED INSURANCE BUSINESS WHICH WAS
DIRECTED TO HIM FOR CONSIDERATION BY A PERSON WHOSE
LICENSE TO ENGAGE IN THE INSURANCE BUSINESS, AT THAT
TIME, WAS SUSPENDED OR REVOKED AND THE APPLICANT FOR OR
HOLDER OF SUCH LICENSE KNEW OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT
THE PERSON'S LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED OR REVOKED.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.
