CHAPTER 210
(Senate Bill 428)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 353 of
Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Funeral Directors and
Embalmers," to provide that both sexes may apply for a surviv-
ing spouse's license to practice the occupation of funeral director.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 353 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
(1971 Replacement Volume), title "Health," subtitle "Funeral Di-
rectors and Embalmers," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
353.
Upon the death of any person licensed under this subtitle to
practice the occupation of funeral director and embalmer, [his sur-
viving widow,] the surviving spouse, if any, provided, he or she is
not [herself] the holder of a license under this subtitle may apply
for a [widow's] surviving spouse's license in order to continue op-
erating the business. Any such application shall be filed within ninety
days following the death of the licensee. A [widow's] surviving
spouse's license authorizes the [widow] surviving spouse to continue
the operation of the business except that these operations must be
under the direct supervision of a person licensed under this subtitle
to practice the occupation of funeral director and embalmer.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

(Senate Bill 432)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 52 THROUGH 55 of Article 100 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and
1971 Supplement), title "Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle
"Hours of Labor for Females," limiting the number of hours of
work per day, number of hours continuously and exemptions
thereof; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 56
of Article 100 of the said Code (1964 Replacement Volume), title
"Work, Labor and Employment," subtitle "Compulsory Work
Law," eliminating and correcting certain words so that section
THIS ARTICLE applies EQUALLY to both sexes, and generally
relating thereto, AND MAKING CERTAIN CORRECTIONS IN
THIS LAW.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 52 THROUGH 55 of Article 100 of the Annotated
