2212                               Municipal Charters

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED by The Mayor and Council of
Hurlock that the parcels of land, hereinafter described, both of
which are contiguous to and adjoining the present corporate limits of
the Town of Hurlock be annexed pursuant to the provisions of
Article 11-E of the Constitution of the State of Maryland and Article
23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Corpora-
tions—Municipal", the consent for the proposed annexation having
been obtained from not less than 25% of the persons who reside in
the areas to be annexed and who are registered as voters in county
elections, and from the owners of not less than 25% of the assessed
valuation of the real property located in the areas to be annexed.

Said parcels of land proposed to be annexed to said corporate
boundaries have been surveyed precisely by D. C. Kirby, Jr., Regis-
tered Land Surveyor No. 3848 of the State of Maryland, and are
identified as "West Parcel" and "East Parcel" and according to the
certificate of said surveyor, dated January 26, 1970, are more fully
described as follows:

"WEST PARCEL: Beginning for the same at a Concrete Monu-
ment at the most southerly corner of the herein described land, said
Monument being at the southwest corner of the corporate limits of
the Town of Hurlock, as established June 1, 1945, and being South
83 degrees 53 minutes 43 seconds West 500.0 feet with an extension
of the north side of Pickle Road from the center of Main Street or
Maryland Highway No. 331, and having coordinates of North 289,
783.05 feet and East 1,124,863.94 feet of the Maryland State Grid as
established by the U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, and from said
Place of Beginning running (1) North 39 degrees 29 minutes 07 sec-
onds West 2704.35 feet to a Concrete Monument on the south side
of Maryland Highway No. 392; thence (2) continuing North 39 de-
grees 29 minutes 07 seconds West 321.41 feet to a Concrete Monument
on the northwest side of Cambridge Branch of the Penn Central Rail-
road Company (formerly Pennsylvania Railroad Company) right-of-
way; thence (3) crossing Poplar Street and continuing North 39 degrees
29 minutes 07 seconds West 1678.75 feet to a Concrete Monument on
the North side of Oak Street; thence (4) North 45 degrees 58
minutes 20 seconds East 887.15 feet to a Concrete Monument;
thence (5) North 42 degrees 55 minutes 39 seconds West 1690.24 feet
to a Concrete Monument; thence (6) North 44 degrees 33 minutes
21 seconds East 837.04 feet to the aforementioned corporate limits of
Hurlock; thence (7) by and with said corporate limits, South 25 de-
grees 37 minutes 39 seconds East 6744.47 feet to the Place of Begin-
ning, containing 86.023 Acres of Land, more or less;

"EAST PARCEL: Beginning for the same at a Concrete Monu-
ment on the east side of the corporate limits of the Town of Hur-
lock, as established June 1, 1945, said Monument being at the most
southwesterly corner of the herein described land and being North 26
degrees 32 minutes 01 seconds West 215.32 feet from the north side of
Delaware Avenue or Maryland Highway No. 392, and being at coordi-
nate North 292,534.76 feet, East 1,127,166.95 feet of the Maryland
State Grid as established by the U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey,
and from said Place of Beginning running (1) by and with the east
side of the said Hurlock corporate limits, North 26 degrees 32 min-
utes 01 seconds West 1198.64 feet to a Concrete Monument; thence

(2)   North 62 degrees 18 minutes 21 seconds East 207.03 feet; thence

(3)   North 40 degrees 28 minutes 18 seconds East 306.72 feet; thence
