1888                              Joint Resolutions

Resolved, That this Department report to the Maryland Legisla-
tive Council concerning this study specifically showing a
program
for disposing of abandoned boats; plans to restrict the abandoning of

boats in the future, and recommendations for any legislation neces-

sary to effectively combat this problem; and be it further

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND,
THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES IS
REQUESTED TO REPORT TO THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
BY MARCH 1, 1972 AS TO WHAT EFFORTS HAVE BEEN
MADE TO IMPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 4P
OF ARTICLE 14B OF THE ANNOTATED CODE AS ENACTED
BY CHAPTER 793 OF THE LAWS OF 1969 TO SOLVE THE
PROBLEM OF ABANDONED BOATS AND TO ADVISE THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY IF ANY FURTHER ACTION IS
NEEDED FROM THE STAND POINT OF LEGISLATION OR
FUNDING IN THIS AREA; AND BE IT FURTHER

Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be sent to James B.
Coulter, Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources.

(Senate Joint Resolution 36)

Senate Joint Resolution recognizing the Bowie Interfaith Recrea-
tion Council and wishing their leadership continued success in
their endeavors.

Whereas, The aims of the Bowie Interfaith Recreation Council
in the City of Bowie, Prince George's County, are to promote broth-
erhood, better understanding between the different religions, and
physical fitness through the means of organized recreational activi-
ties; and

Whereas, The Bowie Interfaith Recreation Council, in its sixth
year of organization, having grown in its number of constituent
congregation of all creeds to its present 19 houses of worship; and

Whereas, The Bowie Interfaith Recreation Council conducts a
full year-round schedule of sports activities for men, women and
youth, including football, bowling, volleyball, softball and golf; and

Whereas, The respectful relationships developed on the athletic
fields between individuals and teams of different faiths express per-
haps the finest example of a social action program to eliminate
bigotry and prejudice; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it sends its
greetings and commendation to the Bowie Interfaith Recreation
Council and best wishes to their leadership for continued success
in the most altruistic direction in which they were organized; and
be it further
