Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
(Three-fifths of all members elected to each of the two Houses
concurring), That Chapter 355 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of 1971 be and it is hereby withdrawn and recalled.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That Chapter 355 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1971 be and it is hereby repealed.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3 of
Article 96½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Veterans," subtitle
"Relief Fund," adding the department commander of the Marine
Corps League to the advisory committee of the Maryland Veterans
Commission.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3 of Article 96½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume and 1971 Supplement), title "Veterans,"
subtitle "Relief Fund," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

The Governor shall appoint a Commission, as the "Maryland Vet-
erans Commission," to be composed of nine Maryland veterans, one
of whom shall be designated by the Secretary of Employment and
Social Services as chairman. Each congressional district shall be
represented, and one member shall be an at-large member. The
Maryland Veterans Commission shall be part of the State Depart-
ment of Employment and Social Services. Members shall be eligible
for reappointment to the Commission. All persons who are members
of the Commission as of August 31, 1970, shall continue to serve as
members until the expiration of the terms to which they were ap-
pointed. All appointments to the Commission shall be for seven-year
terms. The department commander of the American Legion, the
department commander of the Marine Corps League, the department
commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the department com-
mander of the Disabled American Veterans, the department com-
mander of the Spanish-American War Veterans, the department
commander of the World War I Veterans, the department com-
mander of the Catholic War Veterans and the department com-
mander of the Jewish War Veterans shall constitute an advisory
committee to the Commission, who shall serve at the pleasure of
the Secretary of Employment and Social Services, without vote.
The members of the Commission as thus constituted shall serve
without pay; members of the Commission shall be paid actual travel-
