Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17, of the Maryland Con-
stitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1279.

This bill makes certain corrections in Article 74, Section 2, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland. However, similar corrections were
made by House Bill 998, which was enacted by the General Assembly
and was signed by me on April 23, 1971. Consequently, it is un-
necessary for me to sign House Bill 1279.
