the reasonable Instance and Request of s.d Philip and his heirs and Assigns do Execute or suffer to be done and Executed any other further Conveyance or better Instrument of Writing for the more Effectual Surety and Sure making of the Premisses with the Appurtenances &c unto him the Said Philip his Heirs and Assigns as shall by him or them of s.d Charles Hammond and his heirs be lawfully devised and required & Provided the same ^contain^ no other or more General Warranty & Covenants then are herein above Written In Witness whereof the Party first named hath hereunto sett his Hand and seal the day & Year above Written Ch.s Hammond Jun.r s Signed Sealed and Delivered in the Presence of NRuxton Gay Benjamin Rogers On the Back of the afd Deed was thus Written Viz Receiv'd this Twenty sixth day of August 1763 of Phillip Hammond the Consideration Money within Expressed being the sum of One hundred and Eighty five Pounds five shillings and six pence sterl £185 s 6 sterl Received the same by me Test NRuxton Gay Ch.s Hammond Junior August 26.th 1763 Then came Charles Hammond Jun.r Party to the within Deed before Us two of his Lordships Justices of Baltim County Court and Acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed and the Parcel of Land & Premises with the Appurtenances &c therein Mentioned to be the Right & Estate of the within named Philip Hammond his Heirs and Assigns for ever According to the true Intent & Meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and Provided At the Same Time also came Rebecca the Wife of s.d Charles who being Privately Examined by and out of the Hearing of her s.d Husband declared that she freely and Voluntarily gave up all her Right & Title of Dower &c of in and to the within parcel of Land with its appurtenances so sold by s.d Charles and that she was not Compelled by him thereto thro Force Threats or fear of his Displeasure Acknowledged before NRuxton Gay Benjamin Rogers Recorded the 24.th September 1763 11 s.d 1763 Sept.br 24.th Received of M.r Philip Hammond Nine Shillings and three pence Sterling for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within Two hundred and thirty one Acres of Land by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent & receiver General Benj.a Beall |
