533 in the Law suit as the said Thomas Sprigg Wootton shall reasonably devise or Request for the further and better assurance Security & sure making over the Land & premisses aforesaid unto him the said Thomas Sprigg Wootton his Heirs and Assigns for ever In Witness whereof the said Jeremiah Bernard hath hereunto set his Hand & Affixed his Seal the day and year year above written Jeremiah Bernard seal signd sealed & Delivered in the presence of David Lynn Kensey Gittings On the back of the aforegoing Deed it is thus Written Viz.t March the Twentieth 1765 Received of Thomas Sprigg Wootton Sixty pounds Curr.t Money the Consideration within mentioned Jeremiah Bernard Testes David Lynn Kensey Gittings March the Twentieth 1765 Came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Frederick County Jeremiah Barnard and acknowledged the Land and premisses within mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named Thomas Sprigg Wootton his Heirs and Assigns for ever, and at the same time Mary Barnard Wife to the said Jeremiah Bernard releasd her right of Dower to the Land & premises within mentioned she being first privately examind out of the hearing of her said Husband and acknowledged she did ^it^ freely and Voluntarily without being Induced thereto by any threats or fear or her said Husbands displeasure David Lynn Kensey Gittings April 4.th 1765 Received of M.r Thomas Sprigg Wootton four Shillings sterling for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within One hundred Acres of Land by virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esquire his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Benj.a Beall Recorded the 5.th day of April 1765 7 Ex.d This Indenture made the fourth day of April in the year Seventeen hundred and sixty five Between James Richard of Baltimore County in Maryland Gentleman of the one part and John Beale Bordley of the same County and Province of the other part witnesseth that the said James Richard for and in Consideration of the sum of One hundred and eighty one pounds and four Shillings sterling Money of Great Britain ^to him^ by him the aforesaid John Beale Bordley in hand actually paid at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said James Richard doth hereby acknowledge and therefrom doth hereby Release and acquit the said John Beale Bordley his Heirs Executors and Administrators Hath given Granted bargained sold released and Confirmed and by these presents he the said James Richard Doth Give and Grant Bargain and sell release and Confirm unto the said John Beale Bordley all those several Tracts Pieces Parcels and Lotts of Land of him the said James Richard scituate lying and being in Baltimore County aforesaid and Commonly called or known by the Names respectively following that is to say North Carolina Jones's Farm Carolina felix, Batchellor's Choice Drunkards hall, Spring garden, part of Spicers Inheritance and Lott Numbered thirty in Baltimore Town, and all ways Waters Watercourses Woods Orchards Fences Gardens Houses Errections and Buildings thereon with their and every of their appurtenances |
