111) On the back of the aforegoing Bond was thus indorst Viz.t Maryland fs.t The Came William Elson and John Baynes before me the Subscriber One of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and made Oath on the Holy Evangalist of Almighty God that they Saw John Smith John Hamilton & Charles Graham Sign Seal and deliver the within Bond as there Act & Deed for the use therein mentioned Sworn before me this 23.d day of March 1757 4 sides Recorded July 28.th 1757 J Hepburn Ex.d Maryland fs.t Know all men by these Presents that we John Smith D.r Jno Hamilton and Charles Grahame of Calvert County in the Province aforesaid are held & firmly ^stand^ bound unto the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary of the said Province in the full and just Sum of four Hundred Pounds Current Money to be paid to the ^his^ Said Lordship his heirs and Successors and to the which payment well and truly to be made we bind our Selves and Each of us our and either of our heirs Exors & Adm.rs for the whole and in the whole Jointly and Severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and dated the 23.d Day of March in the 6.th year of his Said Lordships Dominion &.c Annoq Domini 1757 The Condition of the above Obligation is Such that if the above bound John Smith whilst he shall be and continue in the Office of Collector of Excise in Calvert County shall well and faithfully Exercise and Perform the Several Duties required of him to be Performed by the Act of Assembly Entituled An Act for granting a Supply of Forty thousand Pounds for his majestys Service and Striking thirty four thousand and fifteen Pounds Six Shillings thereof in Bills of Credits and raising a fund for Sinking the same and do well and faithfully pay to the Commissioners of the Loan Office for the time being the Several Sums of Money which he shall recover and be answerable for in Virtue of Same Act at such times as by the said Act is directed According to the true Intent and meaning thereof Then the above Obligation to be void and of no Effect otherwise to remain in full force & Virtue Sealed & Delivered John Smith Seal 3 sides J Hepburn John Milton Seal Will.m Elson Cha.s Graham Seal John Baynes Recorded 28.th July 1757 |
