497) Signed Sealed and Delivered Henry Cooper Seal in the Presence of us her John Hall Lucretia X Raley Seal Mark Anthony Roberts On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received on the Day and Year first within written of the within named Anthony Roberts the Sum of Three thousand Pounds of Tobacco in full for the Consideration within mentioned to be ^by him^ paid to us Henry Cooper Witnesses her John Hall Lucretia + Raley Mark 21.st Sept.r 1754 Then came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within named Henry Cooper and Lucretia Raley and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be their several Act and Deed and that the Lands and Premisses thereby released and confirmed were the Right and Estate of the within named Anthony Roberts his Heirs and Assigns according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof Also Lucretia Raley within and above mentioned being by me privately examined out of the Hearing of her Husband did repeat as before ^and^ that she made this Acknowledgment of her own voluntary Will without any Threats or Compulsion from her said Husband or Fear of his Displeasure Recorded Oct.r 18.th 1754 taken before me Jn.o Brice 8 sides Ex.d This Indenture made the Eleventh Day of October in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and fifty four Between Joseph Alvey of Saint Marys County in the Province of Maryland Planter and Ann his Wife Uriah Bradshaw of the same County and Province aforesaid Planter and Elizabeth his Wife and Clement Stratford of the same County and Province aforesaid Gentleman of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Joseph and Anne his Wife Uriah and Elizabeth his Wife and Clement Stratford for and in Consideration of the Sum of Five Shillings Current Money to them in Hand paid by the said Gilbert Ireland the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have and each of them Hath granted bargained and sold And by these Presents Do and each of them Doth Grant bargain and sell unto him the said Gilbert Ireland his Executors Administrators and Assigns All those three fourth Parts of a Tract or Parcel of Land situate lying and being in Saint Marys County aforesaid called and known by the Name of Leith which are bounded as follow that is to say Beginning at the original beginning red Oak of the said Tract of Land for the Part of Uriah Bradshaw and Elizabeth his Wife and running thence South Seventeen Degrees West seventy two Perches to a marked White Oak the second bound Tree of the said Tract of Land then East one Degree North one hundred and five Perches then North sixty eight Perches then West one Degree South eighty four Perches to the first beginning Tree containing forty Acres of Land more or less Beginning for the Part of Clement Stratford at the End of the East one Degree North one hundred and five Perches Line of the Part laid out for Uriah Bradshaw and Elizabeth his Wife and running thence East one Degree North ninety five Perches then North sixty eight Perches then West one Degree South ninety five Perches then South sixty eight Perches to the Place of beginning for the said Part containing Forty Acres of Land more or less Beginning for the (Part) |
