540) Octob.r 20.th 1748 I hereby Certifie that the Honble Benj.a Young did take the Oath directed to be taken by Officers by an Act of Assembly of the Province of Maryland Entituled an Act for Amending the Staple of Tobacco for preventing frauds in his Majestys Customs 1 and for Limitation of Officers fees Geo Steuart These are to Certifye that William Rogers of the City of Annapolis as Clerk of the High Court of Appeals Register of the Court of Vice Admiralty and Register of the Prerogative Court took the Oath of Office Appointed by the Act of Assembly Entituled and Act for amending the Staple of Tobacco for Preventing Frauds in his Majestys Customs and for the Limitation of Officers Fees 1 now in force before me this 25.th Day of January 1748 Recorded Robert Gordon Ex.d This Indenture made on the fourth Day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred forty and Eight Between Ignatius Wheeler of Baltimore County Gentleman of the One Part and Doctor John Whetenhall of Prince Georges County of the other Part Whereas the said Ignatius Wheeler in April Term Seventeen hundred forty and Six by Writ of Entry Sur Disseizin enle Post did recover against the said John Whetenhall and Monaca his Wife All that part of a Tract of Land called or known by the Name of S.t John's whereon M.r Thomas Mattingly lived Situate lying and being in Saint Marys County Containing by Estimation about four hundred Acres as in and by the said Recovery Remaining of Record in the Provincial Court at Annapolis Relation being thereunto had may more fully appear Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the True Intent and meaning of the said Ignatius Wheeler and of the Parties to the said Recovery before and at the time of Suffering the said Recovery Touching and (concerning) |
