sum to be paid the Commissioners is an annual allowance for ex-
penses and the remainder as salary. 468 OF THE ACTS OF 1966
TO INCREASE THE SALARY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GARRETT
COUNTY, AND TO PROVIDE THAT A PORTION OF THE
SUM PAID IS AN ANNUAL ALLOWANCE FOR EXPENSES.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 155 (m) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land, (1968 Replacement Volume), title "Alcoholic Beverages," sub-
title "Boards of License Commissioners," is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, and Section 68 of the Code of Public
Laws of Garrett County, (1957 Edition, being Article 12 of the
Code of Public Laws of Maryland), title "Garrett County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," as last amended by Chapter 70 of the Acts
of 1966, is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and
Section 67 of the Code of Public Laws of Garrett County, (1957
Edition, being Article 12 of the Code of Public Laws of Maryland),
title "Garrett County," subtitle "County Commissioners," as last
amended by Chapter 468 of the Acts of 1966, is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, and all to read as follows:

155(m).

In Garrett County the members of the Board of County Com-
missioners shall [each receive, in addition to their present salaries,
the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per annum] not receive
additional compensation
for their services in acting as members of
the board of license commissioners of said county.

68.

The County Commissioners of Garrett County are authorized and
empowered to control and regulate the public roads and bridges in
said County, subject to the provisions of Article 89B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition); they shall sit as a Road
Board once in each month, and oftener if deemed by them neces-
sary to the public interest, for the consideration and determina-
tion of matters relating to county roads and bridges; and at such
meetings each County Commissioner shall inform the Board of con-
ditions affecting roads and bridges in said county, so far as the
same have come to his knowledge. It shall be the duty of the County
Commissioners to make careful inspection of the roads and road
work in Garrett County, according to rules to be adopted by the
Board. [For the duties imposed by this section the County Com-
missioners shall each receive a salary of Three Hundred Dollars
($300.00) per year, in addition to such salary as is now provided
for them by law.]

It is further provided that any and all funds allocated to the Road
Board by the State Roads Commission, as provided in Article 89B
above, shall be paid over to the Garrett County Treasurer for de-
posit in a special bank account until such time as needed by the
Board.

67.

The President of the Board of County Commissioners of Garrett

County shall receive a [salary of three thousand dollars ($3,000)]
