Section 2 3. And be it further resolved, (five members of the
County Council voting in the affirmative) That the provisions hereof shall
become law and take effect on the first day of July, 1969.
Bill No. 99
An Act, to prohibit any person from operating a motor vehicle
in such manner as to obstruct an intersection, marked cross-walk
or sidewalk, by adding new Section 17-11.1 to the Baltimore County
Code, 1968, title "Motor Vehicles and Traffic," Article I. In General.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Baltimore County,
Maryland, That new Section 17-11.1 be and it is hereby added to the
Baltimore County Code, 1968, title "Motor Vehicles and Traffic", Article
I. In General, said new section to read as follows:
17-11.1 Obstructing Intersection Cross-walk or Sidewalk.
It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle to enter a street
intersection or a marked cross-walk or to drive across a sidewalk in
entering or leaving a garage or parking lot unless there is sufficient space
beyond the intersection or cross-walk on the right half of the roadway
or in the garage or on the parking lot to accommodate the vehicle he is
driving or operating without obstructing the passage of other vehicles or
pedestrians, notwithstanding any traffic control signal indication to proceed,
except that on a one-way street, drivers shall not be restricted to the
use of the right half of the road but may have access to the entire width
thereof beyond the intersection or cross-walk provided sufficient space be
available.
Section 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect
forty-five days after its enactment.
Bill No. 112
An Act, To prohibit the dispensing or possession of cough syrup
or any other preparation containing opium or derivatives thereof
except under certain conditions; and to provide for exemptions there-
from, and penalties for the violation thereof by adding new Section
18-23 to the Baltimore County Code, 1968, title "Offenses—Miscella-
neous".
Section 1. Be it enacted by the County Council of Baltimore County,
Maryland, That new Section 18-23 be and it is hereby added to the
Baltimore County Code, 1968, title "Offenses—Miscellaneous," said new
section to read as follows:
18-23. Cough syrup or other preparations containing opium or deriv-
atives thereof.
(a) Opium or derivatives thereof shall include codeine and any com-
pound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture, or preparation of opium,
natural or synthetic.
(b) It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, dispense, or give
away any preparation containing opium OR ANY DERIVATIVES
