County," subtitle "County Commissioners," as added by Chapter
586 of the Acts of 1966; to provide for a change in the member-
ship of the Tri-County Council of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's
Counties. AND PROVIDING FOR THE VOTING RIGHTS OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN THE TRI-COUNTY COUNCIL.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 123½ (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Calvert
County (1963 Edition, being Article 5 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Calvert County," subtitle "County Com-
missioners," as added by Chapter 586 of the Acts of 1966; and that
Section 54A (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Charles County
(1969 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Charles County," subtitle "County Commission-
ers," and that Section 52A (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of
St. Mary's County (1965 Edition, being Article 19 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," as added by Chapter 586 of the Acts of
1966, be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, and all to read as follows:

123½.

(a) There is hereby established a tri-county body to be known as
the Tri-County Council for Southern Maryland to represent the
counties of Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's. Membership in the
Council will consist of the State Senators and Delegates represent-
ing Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's Counties in addition to [four
additional members from each county to be elected by the Council
and to include a representative of the County Commissioners of
the County Planning and Zoning Commission and of the County
Economic Development Commission] six additional members from
each county to include three County Commissioners, a member of
the County Planning and Zoning Commission, a member of the
County Economic Development Commission and a member at large.
THE THREE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL HAVE BUT
ONE VOTE AMONG THEM, TO BE CAST BY THE PRESIDENT
OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OR HIS
DESIGNEE. Additionally, the Maryland Department of Economic
Development and the Maryland State Planning Department shall
each be represented on the Council by one non-voting member.

54A.

(a) There is hereby established a tri-county body to be known as
