SPIRO T. AGNEW, Governor 1745
VETOES
TITLES AND MESSAGES
for the
BILLS VETOED
by the
Governor of Maryland
following the
1967 Regular Session
of the
General Assembly of Maryland
NOTE
Twenty-nine bills were vetoed by the Governor of Maryland
following the 1967 regular session of the General Assembly. Twelve
of these bills originated in the Senate, and 17 of the bills originated in
the House of Delegates.
One additional bill (House Bill 421) was vetoed during the
session, being passed over the Governor's veto to become Chapter 137
of the Acts of 1967. In addition, when he signed Chapter 759 (House
Bill 81), this being the State Bond Construction bill, the Governor
issued a statement approving the bill but deleting two Items in it.
Following the provisions of Section 17 of Article II of the Con-
stitution of Maryland, all the vetoed bills as well as the two vetoed
Items in the Bond Construction Bill must be referred to the House
in which they originated immediately after that House shall have
organized at the next regular or special session of the General
Assembly, for reconsideration.
This reconsideration occurred at the Special Session of June 22,
1967. A number of the bills, and one item in the Bond Bill, were passed
over the veto of the Governor. See the Session Laws for the Special
Session of June 22, 1967.
