CHAPTER 756
(House Bill 1192)

AN ACT to add a new Section 30(d) to Article 64A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Merit Sys-
tem," to follow immediately after Section 30(c) thereof to provide
that State employees who are Psychiatric Aides III being paid at
the Sixth Increment and who had attained the Seventh or Lon-
gevity Increment as Psychiatric Aides II shall be raised to the
Seventh or Longevity Increment.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 30(d) be and it is hereby added to Article 64A
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume),
title "Merit System," to follow immediately after Section 30(c)
thereof, and to read as follows:

30.

(d) Longevity incrementAny permanent State employee serv-
ing as a Psychiatric Aide III at the Sixth Increment on or after June
30, 1966, who has had prior continuous service with the State of
Maryland in the classification of Psychiatric Aide II at the Seventh
Increment shall be paid at the Seventh Increment so long as he
holds the position of Psychiatric Aide III commencing as of the
effective date of his promotion to Psychiatric Aide III. Anyone to
whom this Bill applies shall be entitled to receive payment retro-
actively as if he had served in the Seventh Increment on the date of
his promotion to the classification of Psychiatric Aide III, even
though the date of said promotion was prior to the effective date of
this Bill

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1,1966.
