878                             LAWS OF MARYLAND                     [CH. 632

sary in and to certain pieces and parcels of land situate in the
First Election District of St. Mary's County, and generally pro-
viding the procedure with respect thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the expansion and improvement of the facilities of St. Mary's
College of Maryland is necessary.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That in order to properly
improve such facilities and expand them it is necessary for St.
Mary's College of Maryland to acquire title to or other interests in
land situate in the First Election District of St. Mary's County, to
wit: all that land presently occupied by St. Mary's College of Mary-
land and in addition thereto, all or any part of the land situate in
the First Election District of St. Mary's County and described as
follows:

FIRST: All those tracts or parcels of land situated, lying and
being in the First Election District of St. Mary's County, Maryland,
called, known and designated as Lots No. 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 and
29 on a Plat of property prepared for National Slavonic Society of
the United States of America and recorded among the Land Records
of St. Mary's County, Maryland, in Liber EBA No. 9 at folio 174,
with the exception of the following three parts thereof, namely:

A.  All that portion of Lots No. 28 and 29, above referred to, having
a frontage on Mattapany Road of 415 feet, measured from the
Easterly boundary of said Lot No. 29 and running in a Southwesterly
direction, and measuring 450 feet in a Northwesterly direction along
the Easterly boundary line of said Lot No. 29; having a back line (or
third line) running in a Southwesterly direction and parallel to
Mattapany Road for a distance of 557 feet and the fourth line
running in a straight course from the end of the back line to the
point on Mattapany Road 415 feet from the Easterly line of Lot No.
29, the end of the line fronting on Mattapany Road.

B.    All that portion of Lot No. 25, above referred to, beginning
at the intersection of St. John's Road and Mattapany Road and run-
ning with St. John's Road for a distance of 180 feet; thence leaving
St. John's Road and running in a Northeasterly direction to a point
in the boundary line between Lot No. 25 and Lot No. 26, above
referred to, which said point is located 147 feet in a Northwesterly
direction from the Northern line of Mattapany Road; thence with
said boundary line to Mattapany Road; thence with Mattapany Road
in a Southwesterly direction to the beginning.

SECOND: All that parcel of land situated, lying and being in the
First Election District of St. Mary's County, Maryland, fronting on
the western side of St. John's Road and adjoining the land of Col.
L. L. Cobb and the land of the State of Maryland, which was acquired
for the use of St. Mary's College of Maryland.

THIRD: All that parcel of land situated, lying and being in the
First Election District of St. Mary's County, Maryland, fronting on
St. John's Road and Mattapany Road, having a depth of 500 feet
measured from the Westerly side of St. John's Road and bounded on
the Northerly side by land of the State of Maryland which was
acquired for the use of St. Mary's College of Maryland.
