AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 132 (a) of
Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1964 Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds,
Game and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Upland and Migratory
Game Birds and Game Animals," relating to the length of the
seasons of squirrel, turkey, ring-necked pheasant, ruffed grouse,
rabbit or hare, etc., in the State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 132 (a) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title "Natural Resources,"
subtitle "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Upland
and Migratory Game Birds and Game Animals," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
132. Hunting regulations.
(a) Open seasons. The open season for game birds and game
animals shall be set by regulations of the Game and Inland Fish
Commission under authority conferred upon it by Sec. 115 of this
article within the prescribed dates listed below. The Game and In-
land Fish Commission shall adopt and publish seasons on game birds
and game animals annually on or before April 25 of each year, and
antlerless deer seasons, if any, before November 1 of each year,
provided, however, that whenever the Game and Inland Fish Com-
mission, in the exercising of its powers and authority, restricts or
reduces the number of days normally allowed for the hunting,
taking, capturing, killing, possession, sale, purchase, shipment,
transportation, carriage or export of any wild bird or wild animal
because of an emergency situation or condition, said Game and In-
land Fish Commission shall have the authority to extend the period
aforementioned beyond the days specified below so as to provide a
comparable number of days in any given season for the hunting,
taking, capturing, killing, possession, sale, purchase, shipment,
transportation, carriage or export of any wild bird or wild animal.
The seasons for wild ducks, geese, brant, railbirds, woodcock, doves
and jacksnipe shall be set annually and published each year in order
that they may, in the discretion of the Commission, conform to the
federal migratory bird regulations adopted annually by the Secre-
tary of the Interior.

Squirrel and wild turkey October 5 to [November 30]
January 5, inclusive. Provided fur-
ther, that a land-owner residing on
his farmlands, or a tenant of said
farmlands, may kill any squirrel if
said squirrel is destroying corn on
said farmlands between August 15
and October 1, inclusive. And in
Baltimore City, where squirrels are
damaging personal property the
