(House Bill 274)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 11 (a) (5)
of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "Fees of Officers," subtitle "Bailiffs and Criers," to
change the maximum compensation of bailiffs of the circuit court
in Garrett County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 11(a)(5) of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Supplement), title "Fees of Officers," subtitle
"Bailiffs and Criers," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
11.
(a) (5) Bailiffs in Garrett and Somerset counties shall each receive
such compensation as the county commissioners of said counties shall
determine, but not exceeding five dollars ($5.00) per day [.] in
Somerset County and not exceeding ten dollars ($10.00) per day in
Garrett County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1965.

(House Bill 292)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108 (14)
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magis-
trate's System," to increase the salaries of the trial magistrate
and associate trial magistrate in Kent County with the next term
of office and to provide for payment of expenses to the trial magis-
trate of the county.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108 (14) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of the Peace,"
subtitle "Trial Magistrate's System," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
108.
(14) There shall be one trial magistrate who shall sit at Chester-
town and who shall receive an annual salary of not [less than
$1,800.00 nor] more than [$3,000.00] four thousand dollars ($4,000)
as the County Commissioners of Kent County may from time to
