74                              JOINT RESOLUTION

JOINT RESOLUTION

No. 1
(Senate Joint Resolution 1)

Senate Joint Resolution providing for the continuation of the Mont-
gomery County Citizens Study Commission on Alcoholic Beverage
Laws.

Whereas, the Montgomery County Citizens Study Commission on
Alcoholic Beverage Laws was created by an act of the 1963 General
Assembly; and

Whereas, the Study Commission's report has been used as a guide
to enact alcoholic beverage legislation for Montgomery County at
the 1964 special session of the General Assembly in order to provide
a more systematic and comprehensive framework of alcoholic bever-
age laws; and

Whereas, the Montgomery County Senator and Delegation feel
that continued review and study of the laws would be helpful at
the 1965 session; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Mont-
gomery County Citizens Study Commission on Alcoholic Beverage
Laws is to be continued and the membership of the Commission shall
consist of:

(a)  One member from the Montgomery County Board of License
Commissioners to be named and designated by the Chairman of the
Board.

(b)   One member from the Allied Civic Group Incorporated to be
named and designated by the President of the Civic Group.

(c)   One member of the Montgomery County Civic Federation to
be named and designated by the President of the Civic Federation.

(d)   One member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau to be
named and designated by the President of the Farm Bureau.

(e)   One member of the League of Women Voters of Montgomery
County to be named and designated by the President of the League.

(f)   One member of the Montgomery County Medical Society to be
named and designated by the President of the Medical Society.

(g)   One member of the Montgomery County Bar Association to
be named and designated by the President of the Bar Association.

(h) One member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Com-
merce to be named and designated by the President of the Chamber
of Commerce.

(i) One member of the Montgomery County League of Parents
and Teachers Association to be named and designated by the Presi-
dent of the Parents and Teachers Association.

(j) One member of either the Bethesda Council of Churches or
the Silver Spring Council of Churches to be designated jointly by
the Presidents of the two Councils.

(k) One member of the Fiscal Advisory Committee to be appointed
by the Chairman of the Fiscal Advisory Committee; designee to be
ex officio and without vote.
