City to make space available in its facilities in Baltimore City to
the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles for use in the registration of
Class A passenger motor vehicles. REQUIRING THE CITY
TREASURER OF BALTIMORE CITY TO ACT AS THE
AGENT OF THE COMMISSIONER OF MOTOR VEHICLES
IN THE REGISTRATION OF CLASS A PASSENGER MOTOR
VEHICLES.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 33 (a-1) of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1963 Supplement), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Ad-
ministration—Registration—Titling", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

33.

(a-1) The police department of Baltimore City shall [also act as
the agent of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles] make available to
the employees of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles space in its
facilities in Baltimore City for use
THE TREASURER OF BALTI-
MORE CITY SHALL ALSO ACT AS THE AGENT OF THE
COMMISSIONER OF MOTOR VEHICLES in the registration of
Class A passenger or pleasure type motor vehicles, as provided for
in this section; and, it shall receive and account for the fees set
forth in this section to the same extent as in the case of each county
treasurer under this section.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby de-
clared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety, and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of the members elected
to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 3
(House Bill 78)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 293 (b) of
Article 66-½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation of Vehicles Upon High-
ways," amending the motor vehicle laws concerning horns, sirens,
and other warning devices in order to provide that vehicles used
for the sale of ice cream products and similar products may be
equipped with and may use a bell or set of bells and providing
generally for the type of bell and the hours during and purposes
for which it may be used on such vehicles.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 293 (b) of Article 66-½ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation of
Vehicles Upon Highways," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
