1963, Ch. 818—Brentwood, Prince George's County
Executive Department
Annapolis, Maryland

Office of the Secretary of State of Maryland

To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of Maryland,
pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 of Article 33 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition) Do Hereby Certify,
That at a Special Election held in the Town of Brentwood, Prince
George's County, Maryland, on June 24, 1963, an Act known as Chap-
ter 818 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1963, was
submitted to the voters of Brentwood, Maryland, for their adoption or
rejection Under the provisions of Chapter 818 of the Acts of 1963, said
Act being as follows:

"An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 149
(b) and Section 149 (d) of the Code of the Public Local Laws
of Prince George's County (Everstine Edition, 1953) legalized
by Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1953, Chapter
339, Approved April 6, 1953, effective June 1, 1953, Title
"PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY," SUBTITLE "Brentwood"
relating to the borrowing of money by the Mayor and Town
Council of Brentwood for street and drainage improvement,
and for repair and reconstruction of streets, sidewalks, curbs
and gutters previously constructed; AND SUBMITTING
THIS ACT TO A REFERENDUM PURSUANT TO THE
PROVISIONS OF SECTION 5 OF ARTICLE HE OF THE
CONSTITUTION."

and I DO certify, that at said election held in Brentwood, Mary-
land, 50 votes were cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 818 of the
Acts of 1963 and 384 votes were cast against the adoption thereof, and
a majority of votes being cast against the adoption of the said Chapter
818 of the Acts of 1963, the same has failed of ratification.

In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name
and affixed my official seal at the City of Annapolis, this
13th day of May, 1964.
