and Clams," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

(c) Every applicant for a license to dredge in the waters of
Dorchester, Talbot or Somerset counties shall make application for
said license to the clerk of the circuit court of the county wherein
he may reside in the same manner that application is made [to the
Department of Tidewater Fisheries] for a license to dredge in the
Chesapeake Bay. The application for license shall be made in dupli-
cate and the clerk shall promptly send the duplicate copy of the
application to the Department of Tidewater Fisheries.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 515
(House Bill 785)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (i)
of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962 Supple-
ment), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle
"State's Attorney," increasing the salaries of the Assistant State's
Attorney and secretary to the State's Attorney of Charles County
to $4,000 and $3,600 respectively.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (i) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1962 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact,"
subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
40.
(1) In Charles County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is six
thousand dollars ($6,000).
(2) The State's Attorney may appoint an assistant State's Attorney
and a secretary. The assistant State's attorney's salary is [three
thousand dollars ($3,000).] four thousand dollars ($4,000). The
secretary's salary is [thirty-two hundred dollars ($3,200).] thirty-
six hundred dollars ($3,600).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
