year and February 15, of the year following, inclusive, and in such
counties any person may have green mink and muskrat skins in his
possession until [March 10] February 25 for purposes of curing such
skins.

(c) No person may shoot at, or gig, or kill, or catch any muskrat,
beaver or otter in any manner except by trapping, and no person
shall dig into or in any manner molest or destroy any part of a musk-
rat, beaver or otter den or houses. No person may possess at any
time the hide or skin of any muskrat, beaver or otter which has been
caught in any way except by trapping, and any muskrat, beaver or
otter hide or skin which has been punctured by a hole which appears
to be a shot or bullet hole shall be prima facie evidence that the
muskrat, beaver or otter was illegally killed.

No person shall possess at any time a light for the purpose of
hunting muskrats, beaver or otter at nighttime. Possession of such
a light shall be prima facie evidence that it was intended for such
purpose.

A landowner or his lessee shall have the exclusive right to trap
for muskrats down to the mean low watermark on marsh land ad-
jacent to his land. No person shall enter upon or place traps upon
any such land without first obtaining the written consent of the land-
owner or his lessee [. It shall be lawful. IT SHALL BE LAWFUL [for
landowners of the counties, their spouses, parents, children, the
spouses or children of children, or tenants, residing on such lands,]
to trap beaver under the supervision, regulation and control of the
Game and Inland Fish Commission.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 394
(House Bill 413)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 132 (j)
of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1962 Supplement), title "Natural Resources," subtitle "Birds,
Game and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Upland and Migratory
Game Birds and Game Animals," providing for the legal selling or
buying of opossum and raccoon.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 132(j) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title "Natural Resources,"
subtitle "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish," subheading "Upland
and Migratory Game Birds and Game Animals," be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

132.

(j) It shall be unlawful for any person, except when such person
holds a valid game breeder's license for fiscal year, to sell, offer for
