(h) (7) To perform such other functions as may be assigned to
Mm from time to time by the county commissioners.

59F.

This sub-title and all other relevant acts applying to the county
shall be liberally construed so as to enable the county commissioners,
the director of finance and all other county departments, offices and
and agencies to realize the maximum advantages to be attained from
integrated supervision of the financial affairs of the county.

59G.

The responsible officials of each office, department, board, com-
mission, institution or other agency of county government shall con-
form to and obey any lawful order, rule or other command of any
kind of the director of finance made under the provisions of this
sub-title. Willful or negligent failure by any person to comply with
any such command shall be grounds for his removal from office.
Willful disregard, breach, evasion, violation or failure to discharge,
any of the duties herein imposed upon any official shall be a mis-
demeanor, and upon conviction of such offense in the Circuit Court
for St. Mary's County, he shall be fined not more than one thousand
dollars ($1,000) or imprisoned in the county jail for not more than
one year, or both.

Sec 3. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
public general or public local, inconsistent with the provisions of this
Act are hereby repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 147
(Senate Bill 129)

AN ACT to add a new section to the Charter of the Town of West-
ernport, the same being Sections 571 to 598, inclusive, of Article
1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County, said new
section to be known as Section 598-A, titled "Redevelopment-
Urban Renewal", and to follow immediately after Section 598 of
Article 1; to authorize and empower the Mayor and Commis-
sioners of Westernport to carry out urban renewal projects involve
ing the clearance and redevelopment and rehabilitation of slum
areas or blighted areas, including the acquisition of property for
such purposes with certain provisions in regard to such acquisition
by the exercise of the power of eminent domain; declaring such
activities to constitute governmental functions in furtherance of
which the Mayor and Commissioners of Westernport may exercise
the power of taxation, expend public funds and extend public
credit; granting to the Mayor and Commissioners certain addi-
tional powers and authority necessary or proper to carry into full
force and effect the powers hereinabove mentioned and placing
certain restrictions and limitations on certain powers granted.
