are authorized to provide out of the general funds of the county or
any general fund surplus, such amounts as may be necessary to the
proper administration of this Act prior to the adoption of the next
annual county budget.

Sec. 5. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
public general or public local, inconsistent with the provisions of this
Act, are hereby repealed to the extent of any such inconsistency.

Sec. 6. And be it further enacted, That if any provision of this
Act or the application thereof to any person or circumstances is held
invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions or any
other application of this Act which can be given effect without the
invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this
Act are declared to be severable.

Sec. 7. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 895
(Senate Bill 287)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 81 (g)
and 315 (b) and (c) of Article 66˝ of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition AND 1962 SUPPLEMENT), title "Motor
Vehicles", sub-titles "Administration—Registration—Titling", and
"Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", providing for the regis-
tration of a new class of truck-tractor, establishing the registra-
tion fee for such truck-tractor, replacing the present formula for
gross weight with a table of gross weights, and increasing the
maximum gross vehicle weight from 65,000 to 73,280 pounds.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 81 (g) and 315 (b) and (c) of Article 66˝ of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition AND 1962 SUPPLE-
MENT), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-titles "Administration—Regis-
tration—Titling", and "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

81.

(g) (Class F. Pneumatic Tire.)

(1) Registration fees for truck tractors, or traction engines, or
any other similar motor vehicles used for propelling, supporting or
drawing a trailer or semi-trailer with gross weight limits for the
vehicle and load when in combination shall be as follows:

Class               Maximum Gross Weight                 Fee

FA                             40,000                           $130.00

FB                             50,000                            160.00

FC                             65,000                            245.00

FD                             73,280                            300.00
