6. Northwesterly about 13 miles to the beginning.

145F. District No. 17Vale Summit. Beginning at the Cum-
berland and Pennsylvania Railroad water station
¾ of a mile south
of Borden Shaft and running thence by a straight line

1. Southeast 1-4/10 miles crossing over the hill east of Carlos
Junction to the junction of Neff's Run and Matthews Run near the
bridge on the county road, about
½ mile northeast of Miller's, then
running up Matthews Run

2.    Southeasterly 1⅓ miles to the forks near the head of said
run, then with a straight line

3.    Southeasterly ¾ of a mile to Dan's Rock, then with the sum-
mit of Dan's Mountain

4. Northeasterly 3⅓ miles to the high point marked 2592 on the
topographical map of the Maryland Geological Survey, then with a
straight line

5.    Northwest of a mile to the head waters of the north fork
of hoar's Run, then down said run passing Montell mine

6.    Northwesterly one mile until it empties into Preston Run, then
with Preston Run

7.    Northeasterly ½ of a mile to the Eckhart branch of the Cum-
berland and Pennsylvania Railroad at the horseshoe bend, then fol-
lowing said railroad toward Eckhart

8.    Northerly ¼ of a mile to a line drawn from the center of the
stone bridge on the National Road at Clarysville to a point 100 feet
northwest of the Hoffman school house, then with said line between
said bridge and the point near the school house.

9.    Southwesterly 7/10 of a mile to the said point 100 feet north-
west of the school house, then with a straight line

10.    Southwesterly ½ of a mile to a point 25 feet northwest of
Kirby's weigh scales on the road leading from Hoffman mine to
Frostburg, said place being about ⅓ of a mile west of Hoffman's
mine, then with a road leading across the Georges Creek and Cum-
berland Railroad

11.    Southwesterly ½ of a mile to Vale Run on the north side of
the Georges Creek and Cumberland Railroad, then down Vale Run

12.    Southwesterly 1-4/10 miles to the water station, the place of
beginning.

145G. District No. 18Ocean. Beginning at a point on the Gar-
rett County line where it crosses the head waters of Squirrel Neck
Run and running thence down said run

1.    Easterly 2-6/10 miles to Georges Creek, then down Georges
Creek

2.    Southwesterly 4/10 of a mile to the southern limits of the
town of Midland, then with said town limits

S. North 84¼ degrees east 2/10 of a mile to the county road
from Midland to Lonaconing, then leaving the limits of Midland and
running with a straight line
