138. District No. 4—Canal—Cumberland. Beginning on the
Baltimore Street Bridge over Will's Creek in Cumberland, and run-
ning thence with the center of Baltimore Street
1. Easterly 1000 feet to South Centre Street, thence with the
center of South Centre Street
2. Southeasterly 1300 feet to Williams street, thence with the
Center of Williams Street and the Williams Road
3. Southeasterly 8800 feet to Evitts Creek, thence down said
Evitts Creek
4. Southwesterly 8000 feet to the North Branch of the Potomac
River, thence up and with the Potomac River
5. Northwesterly about 4¼ miles to the mouth of Will's Creek,
thence up and with Will's Creek
6. Northerly about 1000 feet to the Baltimore Street Bridge, the
place of beginning.
139. District No. 5—Wills Creek—Cumberland. Beginning on
the viaduct of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company over Will's
Creek, in the City of Cumberland, then, (1) Eastward, along and
with the tracks of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, 2000 feet to the
center of Bedford Street, then (2) Northeastward, with Bedford
Street, 1.8 miles to the Easterly limit line of the City of Cumber-
land, then (3) Northward, with said Easterly limit line, 375 feet to
the concrete monument at the end thereof, then (4) Westward, with
the Northerly limit line of the City of Cumberland, 0.4 miles to the
top of Shriver Ridge, then (5) Northeastward, along and with the
top of Shriver Ridge, 3.8 miles to the Maryland and Pennsylvania
State Line where it is crossed by Bedford Road (U. S. Route 220),
then (6) Westward, with the Maryland and Pennsylvania State Line,
2 miles to the top of Wills Mountain, then (7) Southwestward, along
and with the top of Wills Mountain, 4.6 miles to the center of Wills
Creek, opposite the second mile post on the National Pike in the
Narrows, then (8) Southeastward, down and with Wills Creek, 1.6
miles to the viaduct of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company,
the place of beginning.
HO. District No. 6—River—Cumberland. Beginning at a point
on the North branch of the Potomac River at the mouth of Will's
Creek and running thence up and with Will's Creek.
1. Northwesterly about 2-1/10 miles to a point opposite the second
mile post on the National Pike in the "Narrows", then leaving Will's
Creek and running with the top of Will's Mountain
2. Southwesterly 5¾, miles to Warrior's Run 1/10 of a mile East
of the Cresaptown Road, leading to Winchester Bridge, thence down
and with Warrior's Run
