(House Bill 325)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 9 (37) of
Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "What Shall Be Taxed and
Where," to exempt from taxation the property of rescue squads in
the State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 9 (37) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes," subtitle "What Shall Be
Taxed and Where," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

(37) Property, real and personal, owned by any volunteer fire com-
pany [or] , volunteer fire department or rescue squad in the State of
Maryland.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Governor—Executive and Administrative Departments,"
subtitle "Extradition," providing for an appeal to the Court
of Appeals from the denial of an application for a writ of
habeas corpus under the extradition laws.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 25 of Article 41 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Governor—Executive and Administrative De-
partments," subtitle "Extradition," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
