7. Col. John Rousby II of Calvert County (Prot., mother prob. Cath.),
appointed to succeed Plater, whose widow he married, 22 Dec. 1707 (AM, XXV,

227); resigned to be Collector of Patuxent in Midsummer, 1717.

8. Thomas Macnemara of Annapolis (Prot., convert, wife Cath., succeeded
Rousby in Midsummer, 1717 (AM, XXXIII, 170); died in office in or shortly be-
fore April, 1720 (AM, XXXIII, 482).

9. Col. William Holland of Anne Arundel County (Prot.), succeeded
Macnemara (AM, XLII, 42); resigned after appointed joint Commissary General.

10. Thomas Humphreys —— County (Prot., His Lordship's very dear
friend), succeeded Holland shortly before 9 Oct. 1722 (AM, XLII, 45, 47);

resigned prior to Oct. 1727.

11. *John Ross of Annapolis (Prot.), succeeded Humphreys prior to 9
Oct. 1727 (AM, XLII, 49); resigned after appointed Clerk of the Council.

and children Cath.), sworn 24 May 1755 (Prov. Ct. Rec., 1. EI #9, pt. A,
f. 571); exposed as an embezzler, 27 April 1761; fled the province (AM, XXXII,
12); died after 1788.
