Washington Turnpike Company, for two years, ending De-
cember, 1859;

Also, an abstract of the accounts of the Baltimore and
Harford Turnpike Company, ending December, 1859;

Which were referred to the committee on Ways and Means,

Mr. Bayless presented a petition from four hundred and
twenty voters of Harford county, for an act to tax dogs for
the protection of sheep;

Referred to the Harford county delegation.

Mr. Booze presented a memorial from one hundred and ten
citizens of Baltimore, asking to have a public scale erected at
or near Canton, in the eastern section of the city;

Referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

Mr. Maxwell presented a petition from Joseph W. Abra-
hams, and one hundred and fifty other citizens of Cecil
county, in relation to the appropriation to West Nottingham
Academy;

Referred to the Cecil county delegation.

Mr. Bayless presented a petition from J. Thompson Freize
and others, citizens of the town of Havre do Grace, for an
act to authorise the commissioners of said town to collect ar-
rears of taxes on certain lots;
Referred to the Harford county delegation.

Mr. Stanford presented a memorial from sundry citizens of
Somerset and Worcester counties, praying the repeal of the
135th section of the code of the public local laws, relating
to the sale of ardent spirits in Salisbury, in said counties;

Referred to the Somerset and Worcester county dele-
gations.

Mr. Naill presented a petition from William Rouzer, and
other citizens of Frederick county, praying the passage of
an act, to authorise the trustees of Primary School District
No. 37 in said county, to sell a house and lot in said district,
and for other purposes.

Referred to the Frederick county delegation.
Mr. Freaner offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on Elections, and the special
committee to whom was referred the memorial for the removal
of Hon. Henry Stump, from the bench of the Criminal court
of Baltimore city, employ a Stenographer, to take down the
testimony which may be submitted to them;

Which was adopted.
