The said bill was then sent to the Senate.

Mr. Smith, of Carroll county, presented the petition of Jacob
Ruse and 104 other persons of Carroll county, remonstrating
against the passage a law to compel defendants to be tried before
a Justice of the Peace of the election district in which they re-
side;

Which was referred to the Carroll County Delegation.

Mr. Wilson, of Somerset county, presented the petition of No-
ah H. Howard and 15 others, to incorporate an academy at Bar-
ren Creek Springs, Somerset county;

Which was referred to the Committee on Education.

Mr. Hall presented the petition of Z. D. Waters and 45 other
citizens of Montgomery county, in favor of a general law for the
protection of partridges, pheasants, &c, &c.;

Which was referred to the committee on that subject.

Mr. Dorsey presented a petition of Samuel Hindes and others,
praying the passage of a law to regulate the sale of certain kinds
of provisions in Baltimore city;

Which was referred to Messrs. Dorsey, Heath and Abbott.

Mr. Abbott presented a petition of Thomas Godman and oth-
ers, praying the passage of a law to protect the revenue derived
from the public market houses;

Which was referred to Messrs. Dorsey, Heath and Abbott.

Mr. Goldsborough presented a petition of a number of citizens
of Queen Ann's county, in relation to gates, on the public
roads;

Which was referred to the Queen Ann's county delegation.

Mr. Scott presented a petition of citizens of Cecil county,
praying for the incorporation of the Columbia and Octorara
Railroad in Cecil county;                                                         

Which was referred to the Cecil county delegation.
