Which was read the first time,                             

And referred to the Committee on Corporations.

On motion of Mr. Partridge,

The rules were suspended in order to reconsider the order
adopted requiring all bills to be printed ;
Mr. Hall offered the following as a substituted said order.

Ordered that all bills of a public or a public local character
presented to this House shall be printed,

The question being upon the substitute,

It was determined in the negative.

The question then recurring upon the original order;

It was adopted.

The Speaker laid before the House the fifth report of the State
Agricultural Chemist.

Mr. Merrick, moved that the reading of said Report' be sus-
pended, and that twelve thousand copies be printed for the use of
the members;                                                                                           

Mr. Kennedy moved to strike out "twelve thousand," and in-
sert thirteen thousand;                                             

Mr. Partridge, moved to insert "fifteen thousand;"

Which was lost;                                                         

The question recurring on the motion to insert "thirteen thou-

sand,"

It was determined in the affirmative.           

The following Bills were read a second time,
A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed of manumission
from Thomas Lord to Negress Caroline.

A bill entitled, an act to change the name of the town of Llan--
gollen, in Allegany county, to that of Bloomington.

A bill entitled, an act to fix the per diem of the county commis-
sioners of Queen Ann's County,                                               

A bill entitled, an act to make valid a deed from Joseph A.
Beck and wife, to Sarah Dixon, for the use of Rachel Bogia, of
the City of Baltimore.                                                     

A bill entitled, an act for the relief of Arnold Pitts, free negro,
of the State of New York.                                                         

A bill entitled, an act to change the name of Mary Emeline
Rider of Somerset County, to Mary Wallace Rider.

The Speaker laid before the House the following communica-
