A bill entitled, an act to provide for the compensation of Charles
J. M. Gwinn for certain services performed by him under the ap-

pointment of the Governor in the Court of Appeals of Mary-

land;

Claims.

Also a bill entitled, an act appropriating a sum of money for
the payment of William Snyder for services rendered to the
State.

Was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Claims.

Also a bill entitled, an act supplementary to an act entitled, an
act to authorize the county commissioners of Howard county to
levy a sum of money to build a school house in primary school
district number six in Howard county passed at January Session
1854, chapter 93.

Was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Stewart, Rowles,
and Dail.

And returned             

A bill entitled, an act allowing compensation to the Auditor of
the city of Baltimore for collecting taxes due and in arrear to the
State of Maryland;
