issued to minor heirs of deceased soldiers in conformity with the
act of Congress making bounty land warrants assignable;

Mr. Davis presented a petition of Richard H. Thompson and
69 other citizens of Frederick county praying a law to authorize
the levy court of said county to levy a certain sum of money to
change the national road leading from Urbana to Fredericktown:
Which was referred to the Frederick county delegation.
On motion of Mr. Carper,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments to introduce a bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled,
"an act to incorporate a company to make a turnpike road from
Middletown in Frederick county to the Chesapeake and Ohio
Canal at some point thereon in the Catoctin Valley between the
Catoctin and Blue Ridge Mountain."
Mr. Heath submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the State Treasurer be requested to furnish this
House, for the information and assistance of the Committee on
Education, with a historical and financial statement of the school
fund of this State, and to inform the House in what manner said
school fund was constituted, and from time to time, augmented
and diminished; their amount and sources, and under what Acts of
Assembly also the references to all the acts of Assembly, and res-
olutions relating to the custody, investment, management and dis-
bursement of said school fund, and if no acts of Assembly exist
wholly regulating and directing the control and management of
said fund, then, what plan has been adopted, or rule of action laid
down by the State Treasurer relative to the investment, manage-
ment and disbursement of said school fund;
Which was read and adopted.
Mr. Kildow submitted the following order;
Ordered, That the Governor be requested to furnish the House
of Delegates with the annual report of the Cumberland Coal and
Iron Company, as required by the 11th section of their amended
charter, passed during the session of 1852;

Mr. Brown submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Comptroller of the State be and he is hereby
requested to report to this House what benefit, if any, has been
derived by the Patapsco Female Institute, from a Lottery, the
drawing of which was authorized by an act passed by the General
Assembly of Maryland at December session 1839, chapter 217,
for the benefit of said Institute;
Which was read and adopted.
