real or personal property or estate by gift or by purchase, and the
said male or female shall not have a guardian appointed by last
will and testament, agreeably to law, the orphans' court of the
county in which such infant shall reside shall have power to appoint
a guardian to such infant until the age of twenty-one years

IF A MALE, AND, IN THE CASE OF A FEMALE,
UNTIL HER MARRIAGE OR SHE ATTAINS THE AGE OF
TWENTY-ONE (21) YEARS, WHICHEVER SHALL FIRST
OCCUR; and such appointment may be made at any time after the
probate of the will, or administration granted on the estate of the
deceased under whom the infant appears to be so entitled to land,
and it may be made if the court shall think proper, in the case of
personal estate, either before or after the administrator shall have
passed his account.

211. On a ward's arrival at age, or on the marriage of a female
ward, the guardian shall exhibit a final account to the orphans' court,
and shall deliver up, agreeably to the court's order, to the said ward,
all the property of such ward in his hands, including bonds and other
securities; and on failure, his bond may be put in suit, and he shall
be liable to attachment and fine not exceeding three hundred dollars;
and a female shall be of age at [eighteen] twenty-one years, for the
purposes of this section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1962.

CHAPTER 87
(House Bill 77)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section (a)
of Section 37 of Article 64A of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition and 1961 Supplement), title "Merit System, " to
increase the amount of vacation leave allowable to classified em-
ployees having less than one (1) year of service from five (5)
working days to ten (10) working days.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-section (a) of Section 37 of Article 64A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1961 Supplement), title "Merit
System, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

37.

(a) From and after January 1, 19 [57, ] 62, every classified em-
ployee shall receive as annual vacation in each calendar year, a leave of
absence with pay as follows:
