BOARD OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS AND SUPERVISORS
FOR ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, AND THE MEMBERS OF
SUCH BOARD SHALL BE THREE MASTER ELECTRICIANS
LICENSED IN AND RESIDENT OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY,
ONE OF WHOM SHALL BE A RESIDENT OF THE CITY OF
ANNAPOLIS. THE INITIAL APPOINTEES TO SUCH BOARD
SHALL BE THE THREE MEMBERS OF THE PRECEDING
BOARD OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS AND SUPERVISORS
OF ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, AND THEIR TERMS SHALL
EXPIRE AT MIDNIGHT OF THE SUNDAY IMMEDIATELY
PRECEDING THE FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH OF MAY
IN 1963. THEREAFTER APPOINTMENTS TO SUCH BOARD
SHALL BE FOR TERMS OF FOUR YEARS. SHOULD ANY
VACANCY OCCUR FROM ANY CAUSE DURING THE TERM OF
ANY BOARD MEMBER, THE GOVERNOR SHALL APPOINT
A QUALIFIED SUCCESSOR TO COMPLETE THE UNEXPIRED
BALANCE OF SUCH TERM. UPON THE PRESENTATION OF
SATISFACTORY EVIDENCE IN OPEN HEARING, THE GOV-
ERNOR SHALL HAVE FULL POWER TO REMOVE ANY MEM-
BER OF THE BOARD FOR REASONS OF INCOMPETENCE OR
IMPROPER CONDUCT.

8-2.

(a) The Board shall issue all Master Electrician and Restricted
Electrician licenses, and, in connection with this function, shall
ascertain by appropriate written examination the qualifications and
capabilities of all persons who are or desire to be engaged in the
trade of Master Electrician or Restricted Electrician as defined
in this chapter.

(b) The Board shall adopt rules and regulations designed to
govern the conduct of the trades of Master Electrician and Restricted
Electrician as well as the placement, installation and operation of
electrical conductors, appliances, apparatus or construction in, upon
and about buildings and structures of all types throughout Anne
Arundel County.

8-3.

Each member of the Board shall take and subscribe the oath
required of other State officers. They shall have power to elect
of their number a president, secretary and treasurer. They shall
adopt appropriate rules and by-laws for the orderly conduct of the
business of the Board.

8-4.

Each member shall be paid by way of compensation an annual
salary of Six Hundred ($600. 00) Dollars, payable monthly; provided
that for his clerical and secretarial services the Secretary may be
paid such reasonable additional compensation as the by-laws of the
Board may stipulate; provided, further, that the salaries of the
members shall in no event be paid by or become a charge against
the State of Maryland or its Treasury.

8-5.

The Board shall appoint a member of the Anne Arundel County
Bar to represent it, and his period of service shall be at the pleasure
