(House Bill 629)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 6 (c) of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Civil Jurisdiction", and to add
new Section 6 (n) to said Article and sub-title of the Code, to follow
immediately after Section 6 (m) thereof, and relating generally
to the monetary limitations of jurisdiction of the justices of the
peace of Anne Arundel County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 6 (c) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Civil Juris-
diction", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, and new Section 6 (n) be and it is hereby added to said
Article and sub-title of the Code, and all to read as follows:

6.

(c) Three hundred dollars in certain counties.—In all cases of the
types mentioned in Sub-section (a) of this section which involve
amounts not exceeding $300.00, trial magistrates of Allegany [Anne
Arundel,] Calvert, Carroll and Frederick counties shall have civil
jurisdiction.

(n) Trial magistrates of Anne Arundel County shall have juris-
diction in all cases of the type mentioned in Subsection (a) of this
section which involve amounts not exceeding $500.00. Provided that
those trial magistrates sitting in Annapolis and Ferndale shall have
civil jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore mentioned involving
amounts not exceeding $1,000.00.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 108(2) of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magistrates System", re-
lating to the salaries of Trial Magistrates, conduct of the courts,
and relating generally to the Trial Magistrates of Anne Arundel
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 108(2) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Trial Magis-
trates System", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
