CHAPTER 414
(Senate Bill 483)
AN ACT to add new Section 105A to Article 48A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title
"Agents and Brokers", said new section to follow immediately
after Section 105 thereof, providing generally for the granting of
a license for a limited period of time without examination to the
widow or personal representative of a deceased insurance agent.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 105A be and the same is hereby added to Article
48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "In-
surance", sub-title "Agents and Brokers", said new section to follow
immediately after Section 105 thereof, and to read as follows:
105A. In the case of the death of any insurance agent, his widow,
personal representative or someone else who may be delegated to
serve as such shall be granted a license with full authority to
countersign policies, issue binders, and act as agent for a period
of three months after the death of the said insurance agent, and
the Insurance Commissioner shall have the authority to extend this
period for an additional three months if the circumstances so war-
rant, during which period the widow or other representative of the
estate may be licensed without passing a qualifying examination.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 415
(Senate Bill 484)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 400(b)
of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "Admissions and Amusement
Tax", removing therefrom an obsolete reference to a law applicable
during the duration of World War II and for six months thereafter.
Whereas, In Section 400(b) of Article 81 of the Code there is a
provision for the duration of World War II and six months there-
after concerning the collecting of an admission and amusement tax
from military personnel in the uniform of the United States; and
Whereas, Since the Attorney General of Maryland has ruled that
the definitive end of the War occurred on April 28, 1952, this pro-
vision has been totally obsolete and outmoded as of six months
following that date; and
