Selection of Jurors", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and new Section 6A be and it is hereby added to
said Code; and all to read as follows:

6. It shall foe the duty of the clerk of the county commissioners
for each of the counties of this State to make out and file with the
clerks of the circuit courts for said counties, not less than twenty
days before the beginning of the second regular terms of said courts
after each and every general election a fair and complete list of the
male taxable inhabitants or residents of said county, whose names
appear on the tax books of said county, and who are not known to
said clerk to be under the age of twenty-five years, and to which
said lists so to foe made and filed with the said clerks, respectively,
shall append a certificate that said list is fully and fairly made;
and for making such list the said clerk shall receive such compensa-
tion as the county commissioners shall deem right and proper; and
for failure to perform the duty hereby imposed the said clerk to
said commissioners shall forfeit and pay a fine to the State of not
less than five hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars in
the discretion of the court to foe received by indictment as for a mis-
demeanor, and he shall be thenceforth wholly incapable of holding or
exercising the duties of the said clerk to the county commissioners.
Nothing in this section shall apply to Baltimore, Charles, Harford,
Montgomery, or Prince George's counties. Special local laws exist
for Caroline, Somerset, Worcester, Anne Arundel, St. Mary's, Queen
Anne's and Talbot counties.

6A. (Harford County) (a) The Clerk of the County Commis-
sioners shall establish and maintain a fair and complete list of the
taxable inhabitants or residents of Harford County whose names
appear on the tax books of the county and such list shall be made
available to the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Harford County upon
request or order of the Circuit Court for the use of the Court in
selecting juries. At any time that such list is furnished to the Clerk
of the Circuit Court as aforesaid, the Clerk of the County Commis-
sioners shall accompany said list with a certificate that it is fully and
fairly made.

(b)   The Clerk of the Supervisors of Elections for Harford County
within thirty days after every general election shall make out and
file with the Clerk of the Circuit Court a fair and complete list of the
registered voters in each of the election districts of said county, with
the date of the registration of the respective names and the age of
each registered voter at the time of registration. Such list of voters
shall be available to the court for use in selecting juries. The list so
compiled and supplied by the Clerk of the Supervisors of Elections
shall include the Clerk's certificate that said list is fully and fairly
made.

(c)  In the event the said Clerks fail to obey the requirements of
the aforegoing sub-sections, the Court may enforce compliance by
citation for contempt.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.
