for periods in excess of three months in any year, except non-
resident students enrolled in an accredited Maryland school, college
or university, who are not employed or engaged in any trade or
profession, provided the State of which he is a resident shall extend
the same privileges to residents of this State [, or to non-residents,
engaged in the business of transporting persons or property for
hire, wholly or partly upon or over the public highways of this State,
over fixed routes, or between fixed termini].

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

Approved March 1, 1957.

CHAPTER 119
(House Bill 27)

AN ACT to add Section 185 (c) to Article 66½ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles", sub-
title "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", said new section to
follow immediately after Section 185 (b) thereof, permitting ve-
hicles to pass on the right on dual highways and one-way streets.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 185 (c) be and it is hereby added to Article 66½ of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, title "Motor Vehicles", sub-title "Opera-
tion of Vehicles Upon Highways", said new section to follow immedi-
ately after Section 185 (b) thereof, and to read as follows:

185 (c) The driver of a vehicle may overtake and pass upon the
right of another vehicle upon a one-way street, or upon any roadway
on which traffic is restricted to one direction or movement, where the
roadway is free from obstructions and of sufficient width for two or
more lines of moving vehicles.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1957.

Approved March 1, 1957.

Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1956 Supple-
