Voucher to
justify trustees
in paying
claim.

6. And be it enacted, That .the certificate of the said Rembrandt
Peale shall he a sufficient voucher to justify the said trustees in
the payment of any claim on account of the building, furnishing
or improving, the said museum.

CHAPTER 34.

An act for the relief of Elizabeth R. Snyder of the City of
Baltimore.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the said Elizabeth R. Snyder be and she is hereby divorced from
bed, board, and mutual cohabitation, with her husband Charles L.
Snyder.
2. And be it enacted, That all the right and title which the said
Charles L. Snyder, by virtue of his marriage with said Elizabeth
R. Snyder, had acquired to any property which she now is or may
become entitled to, in any way or manner whatever, be and the
same is hereby annulled and made void; and that the said Eliza-
beth R. Snyder be and she is hereby declared capable to have, hold,
take, receive, sue for, and recover, by compromise, suit or suits in
law or equity, all such property, in as full and ample a manner as
if she were a feme sole, and had never been married; and to hold,
use and enjoy the same, for her own use and benefit, and the same
to dispose of according to her will and pleasure, without the mo-
lestation, interference, hindrance or consent, of her said husband,
in the same manner she could or might have done were she a feme
sole.

CHAPTER 35.

An act for the relief of Eliza P. Custis of Baltimore.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
: Eliza P. Custis be and she is hereby authorised to remove, import,
and bring into this state, from Virginia, at any time within one
year after the passage of this act, a negro slave named Milly, and
Charles, Sally, Lucy and Emery, children of the said Milly,
which slaves, or the mother of which slaves, shall have resided in
the state of Virginia three whole years next preceding such re-
moval or importation, and the. same to retain as slaves; Provided,
that said Eliza P. Custis shall cause said negro slaves to be regis-
tered in the office of the clerk of Baltimore county, within three
months after said removal.
2. And be it enacted, That nothing herein contained shall be con-
strued to enable said Eliza P. Custis, to sell or dispose of said
slaves, until the said slaves shall have resided within this state
three whole years next preceding such sale, except in cases of dis-
position by last will and testament, and disposition by law for bona
fide debts, or consequent upon intestacy.

CHAPTER 36.

An act to authorise Daniel C. Holliday to import and bring
into this State the Negro Slave therein mentioned.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Daniel C. Holliday be and he is hereby authorised and empower-
ed, to import and bring into this state, from the state of Louisiana,
