CHAPTER 186.
An act to divorce Mary M'Daniel of Washington county, and her husband
Richard M'Daniel.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the interest, authority, power and control of Richard M'Da-
niel, in, over and to the person or property of Mary M'Daniel, his
wife, shall henceforth cause and determine, and the said Richard
M'Daniel shall not be liable for any debts hereafter contracted by
the said Mary M'Daniel, and the said Mary M'Daniel is hereby
deprived of all claim to any interest or claim in or to the property
of the said Richard M'Daniel.
2. And be it enacted, That the said Mary M'Daniel shall be and.
she is hereby declared capable to have, hold, take, receive, sue
for and recover, by compromise, suit or suits in law or equity, pro-
perty of any kind, whether real, personal or mixed, in as full and
ample a manner as if she were a feme sole, and to hold, use and
enjoy the same for her own use and benefit, and the same to dis-
pose of according to her will and pleasure, without the let, hind-
rance, molestation, interferance or consent of her husband, in as
full and ample a manner as if she were a feme sole, and may in her
own name, sue and be sued at law and in equity, in the same man-
ner as if she were a feme sole.

CHAPTER 187.
An act, relative to the assessment of taxes on certain lands, lying in vicinity
of Annapolis.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, the western precincts to the
city of Annapolis shall be known and considered within the fol-
lowing metes and bounds, that is to say, bounded on the north west
by Dorsey's creek, at or near the head thereof, with a line drawn
south eastwardly to the mouth, (on the north east side.) of a cove
of the Spaw creek, commonly called Actors or the old womans cove.
2. And be it enacted, That the mayor, recorder, aldermen and
common council of the city of Annapolis, be, and they are hereby
authorised and empowered to cause the said line as is hereby de-
signated, to be laid off in conjunction with the owner or owners
thereof, through whose land said line or lines may run, and when
so established, shall be considered the bounds of the precincts of
the city of Annapolis, westward of the original survey of said city,
laid off into streets, lanes and alleys.
3. And be it enacted, That the said precincts to be laid off by
virtue of this act, shall in all respects be subject to the powers,
jurisdiction and authority vested in or to be vested by law in the
mayor, recorder, aldermen and common council of the city of
Annapolis, and shall be considered as the western precincts of, the
said city of Annapolis; Provided nevertheless, that no part of the
city tax shall be imposed on any land within the said precincts,
until one dwelling house to an acre be built thereon, that is to say,
