CHAPTER 310.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to grant a donation to the Brookeville
Academy, in Montgomery county.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That there be and is hereby ap-
propriated the annual sum of four hundred dol-
lars, to be paid by the Treasurer of Maryland to
the Trustees of Brookeville Academy in Montgom-
ery county, or their order, in addition to the dona-
tion of two hundred dollars, already granted to
said Academy, for the use and benefit of said In-
stitution; Provided, the Trustees of said Academy
shall annually elect one indigent pupil, for each
hundred dollars they receive from the State, and
supply with books and stationery, and give gratui-
tous instruction to said indigent pupils, and other-
wise comply with the requisitions of the original
act and its supplements, granting donations to the
different Colleges and Academies of this State.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
go into effect on and after the first day of April,
eighteen hundred and fifty-eight.

AN ACT authorising the County Commissioners
for Washington county, to enlarge, extend,
modify or add to the Court House in Washing-
ton county, and to levy a sum of money for the
cost thereof.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commission-
ers for Washington county, be and they are hereby
authorised and empowered, to change, modify, ex-
tend or add to the present Court House building
in the said county, at Hagerstown, and to levy the
amount of cost thereof, upon the taxable property
