1330                       CERTIFICATES OF REFERENDA

for the adoption of Chapter 754, aforesaid, 136,887 votes were

cast, and against the adoption thereof 79,978 votes were cast;

and

for the adoption of Chapter 42, aforesaid, 173,375 votes were

cast and against the adoption thereof 56,461 votes were cast;

and

for the adoption of Chapter 53, aforesaid, 178,546 votes were

cast and against the adoption thereof 50,879 votes were cast;

and

for the adoption of Chapter 65, aforesaid, 145,259 votes were

cast and against the adoption thereof 83,741 votes were cast;

and

for the adoption of Chapter 68, aforesaid, 156,551 votes were

cast and against the adoption thereof 83,215 votes were cast;

and

Now, Therefore, I, THEODORE R. McKELDIN, GOVERNOR OF MARY-

LAND, in pursuance of the authority and direction contained in Section
1 of Article XIV of the Constitution of Maryland, do by this my
Proclamation hereby declare and proclaim that the greatest number of
votes having been cast in favor of the above recited Chapters 55, 315,
480, 607, 754, 42, 53, 65 and 68, and each of them, the same as
specifically set forth in said Acts, have been and are duly ratified by
the legal and qualified voters of the State, and henceforth they, and
each of them shall become parts of the Constitution of the State of
Maryland, as in said Acts specifically set forth.

GIVEN UNDER MY HAND AND THE GREAT SEAL OF THE

STATE OF MARYLAND, Done at the City of Annapolis
this 19th day of November, in the Year of Our Lord,
One Thousand Nine Hundred and Fifty four.
