CHAPTER 43.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act to authorise the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, to cause a new
assessment to be made of the property in said city

made and passed at December session eighteen hun-
dred and forty-five, chapter three hundred and thirty-six.

CHAP, 44.

Jan. 28, 1848.

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly,
of Maryland, That the judges of the appeal tax
court of the city of Baltimore, be and they are hereby
authorised and empowered to assess and value at their
full cash value, all the several lots of ground, and the
improvements thereon, situate and lying in the said city,
between Light street wharf on the east, Charles street
on the west, Barre street on the north, and Welcome al-
ley on the south; and to enter and record under their
hands and seals the assessments and valuations made
by them as aforesaid, in the proper book or books of
the assessment of similar property in the fifteenth ward
of the city of Baltimore.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That when the property
above described shall have been assessed and valued
in the manner hereinbefore provided, such assess-
ment shall be deemed and taken to be the true and pro-
per assessment and valuation thereof, in the same man-
ner and to the same effect as if said assessment had
been made and taken by virtue of the provisions of the
act to which this is a supplement, and of the ordinan-
ces of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, made
under the authority given by said act; and all taxes
payable to the State of Maryland and to the city of
Baltimore, as well for the year eighteen hundred and
forty-seven, as for subsequent years, shall be levied,
charged and collected according to said assessment and
valuation hereby authorised to be made, and not other-
wise.

be valid, &c.

county.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Baltimore count v, be and
