be presented before this body but also as a friendly and
valued advisor and consultant; and
WHEREAS, it is the sincere desire of every member of the
General Assembly that Dr. Flack might be enabled to re-
sume his accustomed place in the Department of Legislative
Reference; now therefore be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
this body express its sincere best regards to Dr. Horace E.
Flack, with the hope that he may soon resume his regular
place in the workings of the General Assembly of Maryland.

(Senate Joint Resolution 22)
Senate Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to appoint
a committee to study the possibility of further develop-
ing Maryland for the purpose of encouraging tourists to
come to this State and to view the many historical scenes
and natural beauty of Maryland.
WHEREAS, Maryland was one of the original thirteen
colonies and its history and growth reflect the history and
the growth of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Many great events have taken place within the
borders of Maryland and are now national shrines with
great historical significance; and
WHEREAS, From the sandy beaches of Worcester County
to the rugged mountains of Garrett County, Maryland, is
in truth "America in miniature"; and
WHEREAS, The General Assembly of Maryland and the
people of Maryland should encourage outsiders to come
to Maryland and to take advantage of the beauties and his-
torical significance of Maryland; now therefore be it
